Brisbane Branch May 2022

Report of May meeting
We were treated to an excellent talk from our guest speaker: Chris Fuller, speaking on “Pollination and its importance in the macadamia industry”. Chris is a true expert having worked for over 20 years as an entomology consultant to the macadamia industry on the Sunshine Coast. Chris now also educates macadamia growers in the use of stingless bees and also the safer use of agricultural chemicals. Early in his career he identified the importance of native stingless bees as macadamia pollinators which prompted him to start propagating hives and now offers a commercial pollination service.
After the talk and questions, we dealt with some branch matters

Next meeting—July

Our normal Room and Zoom meeting from Bulimba Community Centre will not be held in June, the conference month. We will be back on 3-Jul-2022 to hear from Jerry Coleby Williams on “Bees, A Personal Perspective”. More details will come in the June issue of the Cross-Pollinator.
