Native Bees at the World Science Festival

ANBA partnered with the Queensland Museum and Butterfly and Other Invertebrates Club to run an activity space at the City of Science over at the Brisbane’s Southbank Piazza on Sunday 26 March 2023. ANBA displayed books and posters, plus an engaging and educational observation hive of two species of stingless bees.

A honey tasting was offered to the young and enthusiastic crowd. Thanks to Brisbane branch members Dean Haley and Peter Stone for exposing native bees to the multitudes. One young man commented: “I have learnt more about science by spending minutes at your display than I did in a semester at high school”.
