Upcoming research project at the University of Queensland

Howdy all! Wanted to introduce myself and let you all know about my project. My name is Alex Barker, and I am currently doing an honours project with the University of Queensland stingless bee lab, focusing on stingless bee keepers’ experiences of colony health, colony losses, and changes over time.

To do this, I will soon be releasing an online questionnaire. No minimum experience is required to participate, as we want to hear from a wide range of stingless bee keepers! I will also be inviting ~ 30 more experienced beekeepers who manage larger numbers of hives to participate in interviews.

So, keep an eye out for further information in the upcoming cross-pollinator issues, and if you see me at the Brisbane Branch meetings or at conference, come say hi so we can talk bees! If you’re keen to learn more or to get an email directly when I get my final approval to start my study, you can contact me at alexander.barker@student.uq.edu.au

Warm regards,
