The Australian Native Bee Association Inc invites beekeepers, farmers, educators, industry leaders and researchers to share knowledge at the 4th Australian Native Bee Conference. We will discuss issues required to increase understanding and unlock the potential of our native bees, a valuable but underutilized natural resource.
The two-day speaker program includes 42 speakers working in diverse areas related to native bee science, education and pollination. All talks are in the same venue – i.e. one stream – so there’s no need to miss any of them.
In addition to a lively speaker program, there is lots else being planned for the conference, including a social mixer, dinner, photographic competition and field day where you can admire up-close some of North Queensland’s remarkable native bees. And of course, the trade show will run continuously for two days with exhibitors showing their native bee related products and services.
Registration includes entrance to all sessions for 2 days (Friday July 31-Saturday August 2), printed copy of program, buffet lunches plus morning and afternoon teas/refreshments.
The Field Day (Sunday August 2nd) and Conference dinner (Saturday August 1st) are optional and can be booked as extras on the Registration form. Check out the Conference Program for details of these.
Registrations are open. Early-bee registration and members of the Australian Native Bee Association (ANBA) receive discounts.

Social Mixer
Meet fellow conference goers Thursday night for a pre-conference social. We’ll pick a convenient Cairns bar for this social rendezvous.
Dinner
Cairns Botanic Garden’s Tank 4 Art Gallery will be transformed to host our conference dinner on Saturday August 1st. Enjoy a buffet Reef Experience dinner (any dietary requirements can be requested) plus a cash bar and an evening of fun to wrap up the formal part of the conference, with native bee trivia and prizes.
Speakers
Expect a diverse range of speaker topics from Australia’s best bee scientists, beekeepers and bee advocates. Abstract submissions are open and close Feb 15.
Photographic competition
Do you take a good bee photo? Show them off at the conference and win a prize. Entry is free to this native bee photo competition.

Field Day
